The importance of positive mental health is now being recognised within the workplace and as an employer, it’s your responsibility to ensure the health and wellbeing of your team.
Our occupational health nurses and e-learning team here at ELAS have created our Mental Health Awareness E-learning course. Our aim is to provide all delegates with an introduction into mental health so that they can better understand the mental health of themselves and others. Our course also provides useful tools that can be used to enhance and promote mental wellness.
We have also recently updated out Mental Health Awareness E-learning course to include Coronavirus. The Coronavirus pandemic and accompanying lockdown has proven challenging for us all and it’s understandable that our mental health has been affected.

This Mental Health Awareness E-learning course is perfect for anyone wanting to gain a greater understanding of mental health issues as well as learning how to support someone suffering from a mental health crisis. This course is also useful for those wanting to improve their own mental health especially whilst navigating out of the Coronavirus lockdown.
Is Any Prior Knowledge Required?
No, you do not need any prior mental health knowledge to undertake this course. Our Mental Health Awareness E-learning course is an introductory course into mental health. It is also provides a suitable baseline if you decide to undertake our Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health classroom training course.
How Long Does This Course Take?
Our course typically takes under 60 minutes, however it all depends on your learning speed and style.
Anything Else I Need To Know?
This course is an awareness course and completion of the course does not qualify you as a first aider for mental health. If you would like to become a first aider for mental health you will need to attend our classroom Level 2 First Aid For Mental Health course. Upon successful completion of the course delegates will be issued with an ELAS Certified certificate with an expiry date of two years. We know that not everyone has expiry dates on their certificates. However as legislation and guidance is continuously changing, there is always the risk that the course you completed is updated every year; thus the content is out of date. We recommend that you therefore refresh your knowledge every two years.
